Chalet Le Roux is located in Awatea Place, surrounded by modern, privately-owned chalets. Awatea Place is a peaceful cul-de-sac centrally located off Goldfinch Street, between the village and the Junction.

A neighbouring reserve provides easy access to the Mangawhero Stream and walkway, an easy and scenic walk in both directions; up to the frisbee golf park and on to the Junction, or down past the swimming hole and down to the village.
